ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR GARY FRANCE Gary France loves to play music, all kinds! You will find him at home in the orchestra, a circus band, the concert stage, a jazz club, a western swing band, folk festivals, techno raves or in Canberra, Australia, making music with his percussion students at the Australian National University. Past performances and teaching have taken him to India, Africa, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, New Zealand, Brazil 07' and all parts of North America. Gary has been an ANU School of Music faculty member since 1998, and is director of the ANU ensemble DRUMatiX.(more)

CAROLYN WATSON After graduating with a Bachelor of Music Education, Carolyn received an orchestral scholarship with the ABC Training Orchestra until returning to complete her Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Since then she has performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, The Hunter Orchestra and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Carolyn has had much chamber music experience playing with A Little Night Musik, The Posh, the Windbags Quintet for Musica Viva in Schools programme, as well as performing with Diva Judy Glen in The Spaghetti Opera. ALLAN WATSON Allan Watson is currently the associate principal timpanist and a percussionist with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, a position he has held for 22 years. The orchestra performs over 250 performance per year in the Opera theatre of the Sydney Opera House for Opera Australia and the Australian Ballet. Allan has also lectured at the University of NSW , Sydney Conservatorium and at the Canberra School of Music and is in demand as a tutor at music camps and a clinician for workshops and conferences.
