During his trip to Australia in early August 2026 our judge Bobby Lopez is available to visit your school to work with you and/or your students.
Bobby can offer personal consultations and hands on workshops designed to:
- Strengthen drumline fundamentals
- Challenge developing players
- Elevate your ensemble’s overall performance
- Provide expert guidance to help take your program to the next level
Travel and remuneration can be arranged directly between your school and Mr. Lopez.
If two or more drumlines request workshops in the same state, travel expenses can be shared.

ABOUT BOBBY LOPEZ Jn
Bobby Lopez (Robert Anthony Lopez, Jr.) currently holds the position of Senior Lecturer at Texas State University where his duties include teaching percussion methods, applied percussion, assisting with the Bobcat Marching Band and maintaining the percussion instruments for the Texas State School of Music.
Mr. Lopez is an active educator, clinician, performer and adjudicator throughout the United States. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from Texas State University. His teachers include Dr. Norman Weinberg, Dr. Paul Bissell, Genaro Gonzalez, Jim Casella, Murray Gusseck, Dave Sankus, Jeff Lee and Scott Johnson. Alumnus of the DCI High Percussion recipient, 1998 Santa Clara Vanguard, and the 1999 DCI World Champion Concord Blue Devils, he was awarded first prize for his composition “Two Days” in the 1998 DCI multi-percussion solo competition.
Bobby is an active clinician and adjudicator having worked with several high schools and middle schools in Texas providing clinics masterclasses. He has adjudicated several contests and festivals such as the Lost Pines Marching Festival, Dripping Springs Marching Contest, Spring Percussion Festival and the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest.
