This is a very hard, very bright stick with excellent rebound. It was designed specifically for playing baroque and early classical repertoire on modern drums with plastic heads as well as for church gigs where maximum articulation is required. The thin layer of synthetic suede takes a slight edge off your plastic heads. The 1” disc-shaped wood core allows even larger, deeper drums to sound more appropriately “baroque” while maintaining a more comfortable feel in the hand than traditional baroque sticks. Also great for later repertoire that requires extreme clarity (think Bartok Music for Strings).
