Songs for Dancing is a collection of original and traditional music that features movement activities for ages two to eight. The appealing arrangments with new, well-chosen lyrics are used to guide young children through movement activities. Each lesson teaches curriculum targets for dance, music and physical education, while reinforcing literacy, sequence and other early childhood concepts. Suggestions for adapting the lesson to fit a variety of learners and other helpful "Kate Says" suggestions are given.
A mixed-media CD and DVD are included. Two sets of audio recordings - with lyrics;and instrumentals - and printable visual aids are on the CD. The DVD features instructional tips and demonstrations of each activitiy. Many opportunities for children to make creative choices are demonstrated.
