Alan Cumberland's Graduated Studies for Timpani is a series of twenty studies. Numbers 1-4 are relatively straightforward for the less experienced player and 5-20 are designed for the more advanced timpanist. The studies, all between 3 and 7 minutes, are suitable for performance at examinations and recitals.
