Graetzer's collection presents dances from the ancient Inca tradition in Argentina, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. Most of the melodies are pentatonic adaptions from contemporary sources although he concedes that no 'Ur-text' or primary source is known for these works. They are arranged for Orff instruments and recorder, and contain no specific dance instructions.
