Acme Curlew or Peewit Whistle: each

The curlew is a soaring bird famously glides at great heights before seeming to tumble from the sky. Its call as it wades out into the estuary is evocative of the British seaside. There are instructions on the pack to follow as to how to use this whistle, but it does require a nack to how to produce the sound. The trick is in the timing of putting your figure on and off the stophole. Rather than blowing two separate notes or just taking the finger on and off with a small gap created in the sound, continuously blow and slide the finger off in a continuos movement. This instrument may also be effectively used to mimic the similar peewit call.
