Dragonfly Percussion vibe mallets are designed to be the perfect go-to sticks for general playing in the orchestra and chamber setting. They are also ideal cross-over sticks for marimba and vibes, with excellent sound quality and response on both instruments. The relatively small head size (1 1/4" diameter) makes accuracy a bit easier on narrower bars and the gentle contour of the playing surface makes mallet dampening very easy.
This medium blue mallet is warm and luscious sounding yet maintains clarity throughout the range. It speaks very quickly at all dynamics and is still articulate enough for use in large ensembles. Perfect for the Maria passage in West Side Story, for comping on swing tunes in Pops shows, and as a general mallet for solo and chamber playing.
