Dragonfly Soft Vibraphone Mallets: pair

Dragonfly Soft Vibraphone Mallets: pair

Dragonfly Percussion vibe mallets are designed to be the perfect go-to sticks for general playing in the orchestra and chamber setting. They are also ideal cross-over sticks for marimba and vibes, with excellent sound quality and response on both instruments. The relatively small head size (1 1/4" diameter) makes accuracy a bit easier on narrower bars and the gentle contour of the playing surface makes mallet dampening very easy.

Dragonfly Percussion has re-categorized their M3 marimba mallet as a soft vibe stick. This is the exact same stick as the regular M3 with green thread that was part of the marimba lineup, but is now wrapped with red cloth and is on a 15” rattan handle. 16” length birch and rattan handles are still available on request. The M3 does not blend as well with the other marimba models, but rounds out the vibe lineup nicely, which is why it was decided to change where it is categorised. This stick produces a big, round, mellow sound on vibes. Great for passages that require lots of blend and minimal articulation. On marimba, this stick is perfect as a soft orchestral stick or for 2-mallet solos. Clear, rubbery sound with a well defined attack, but a soft enough core to sound full and round in the lowest octaves.
